My trip to Melbourne in 2010 was the first long distance travel I had taken by myself. While in the past I had travelled to Sydney and Canberra, I travelled with my parents on these occasions. The lack of travelling had been mostly due to my choices of focusing on working and earning. As opposed to taking the time to enjoy myself.
I booked to fly for the week to Melbourne spending a total of eight nights in the city. There were some little issues with overlapping time with the Melbourne Grand Prix. But in the end, I might have paid a little more but there were no other problems as a result.
The Statistics
The distance covered on this trip was 2,740km (1,700 miles).
There was a total of two flights spending around 5 hours in the air.
I visited just the city of Melbourne staying 8 nights in a hotel.
